It was a dark and stormy day, (not really), but there were storms brewing on both side of the valley. It rained like hell the night before as it has for about the last month. I’m almost ready to move to snow country, just not yet. I’ll put up with the rain awhile more. We decided we needed a ride anyway. We went up to the San Luis Reservoir to check the water level. It’s on Highway 152, better known as Pacheco Pass. It runs between Hollister and Los Banos. Nothing like going over the Pass when you know storms are approaching. Not very smart. But considering the riders, Carolyn, Dave and yours truly, smart didn’t figure into it. B.B. couldn’t go. She had to go pick up…never mind. It’s none of my business what she had to do.
Going up was pretty nice. Temps around 60 or so. Coming back they dropped like a rock. We made it back before the rain did so it was all good. We’ve got three rainstorms moving in this week so we’re not getting off scott free. We’re not ass deep in snow either.

The pump towers this past summer and yesterday.

oooh, thanks, i needed a ride along :)
What a contrast on the pump tower shot. Looks like you need some of that rain, but could you keep it over there?
I agree with AZHD, please keep your California rain in California. We don't want anymore...it interferes with our beautiful winter riding time! ;)
mq01:What about Bob? Doesn’t he need one?
AZHD: After a month of rain, they say we’re at half of what we need.
Ann: I thought you wanted it. You know, to work on that ocean front property you won.
That was a sweet ride. I love 152...even though it is suppose to be haunted and the most dangerous road in CA. Weird because I have never seen an accident on it.
Thanks for the ride....and telling everyone that I was throwing rocks at an poor, innocent little animal.
LOL! Thanks for helping me out again.
Dave: Those little ground squirrels have caused havoc to many horses. If one of them bites the bullet, oh well. Besides, you throw like a girl and didn’t even come close ;)
I'd take a ride in a rainstorm about now.
Mr. M: That ole’ cabin fever starting to set in?
Oh sure, rub salt in the wounds of we of the snow storm tribes.
Is that your lady in the last picture? How did you get such a fine lady, was she momentarily blind or something or just temporaily insane when she agreed to stand with you. Or could it be she thought hiding behind you would be better than getting hit by a stray stone.
WooleyBugger: I have no idea. That was over 20 years ago. I guess we were young, dumb and horny. Now we’re old, dumb and horny. And we’re both blind ;)
