Calif. Skid-lid Update

Listen up California bikers. Feb. 27, 2009 there was an Assembly Bill, No. 1205 introduced. It would amend the skid-lid law. 18 years and older – it’s your choice. You know what to do. E-mail, snail mail, phone calls, go to their office and take them out to lunch and get them drunk. Just contact them. Senator Jeff Denham is now my bestest pen-pal.

Also, Senate Bill, No. 435 (shoot me now), for motorcycle smog checks. You know what to do on this one also.

That would be cool if lids were a choice there, like they are here. Good luck with that!

And regarding smog checks...we have to get motorcycles passed through emissions before we can register them. This is only in the Phoenix area...what a crock. I believe Maricopa County is currently the ONLY county in the US that requires this.
I totally understand if you're missing for a while...you've got to stay on top of things over there with these two bills! Good luck!

Outstanding! Get on your phones Californians! I've worked within the system before and know that phone calls are what works to persuade legislators. California is usually a tough nut to crack but you can do it!

Hmmmm...interesting. As long as the lobbyists for the helmet manufacturers don't get wind of this we just might be able pull this off!

Hey, is Darlene Denham the wife of Jeff Denham?

If so we can yak at her in person. She comes into the shop all the time.

That'll be just like Minnesota. Then they will enact a seatbelt law, if you don't already have one! LOL!
